About Me
Hi! My name is Danielle Anaya, and I am a professional classical guitarist.
I have loved music since I was a kid, and my passion is to foster that same love in my students of all ages. I have been playing piano since the age of 6, and have been playing guitar for more than 20 years. I had the privilege of studying under Professor John Siqueiros at The University of Texas at El Paso’s Music Department, and earned my degree in commercial music in 2012.
I have 14 years and counting of teaching experience, and I am a firm believer that learning correct classical technique is the key to being able to play any style of music.
I have had many amazing opportunities to share my music in our community, both as a soloist and with other amazing local musicians. In 2016 I released my first album, “Renaissance to Romantic: 3 Centuries of Guitar”, which you can listen to on Youtube, Spotify, or any other platform you prefer!
My Guitars
My primary instrument is my classical guitar, made in Paracho, Michoacan, Mexico.
Although my primary style of music is classical music, I enjoy studying popular styles as well.
I also have a Fender Sonoran acoustic-electric guitar and an Epiphone Les Paul. I encourage my beginner students to start with a nylon-string classical guitar appropriate to their size; but once they reach a certain level of proficiency, they can transition to an instrument that fits the musical style they aspire to reach.
